Discover Portugal’s essentials, from Lisbon to Porto

In this Tour we start to discover the heart of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. The wonderful monuments of Belém, and the Pena Palace in Sintra. We continue to the ancient city of Évora, and visit the religious Cathedral of Fátima. We proceed to the Templar city of Tomar, and the universities of Coimbra.  After 7 magnificent days, our Tour ends in Porto, where the Douro River embellishes the city.

Itinerary

Day 1: Depart for Madeira, Portugal

Air travel from your country to Portugal

Day 2: Arrive in Madeira, Funchal

Arrival at Madeira airport. With transfer to the Hotel, meet your Tour Guide for presentation, and Welcome dinner in a restaurant in Funchal.

Day 3: Funchal, Porto Moniz

Funchal  visit  Santa Catarina´s Park , walk to São Francisco´s Garden.  Visit the Cathedral (15th century), The Jesuit´s Church, , The colourful Farmer´s Market.  Admire the Street Art of Rua da Santa Maria. Explore the Old Town of Funchal. The Fort of São Tiago in the old town. Enjoy the views from Monte Cable Car. Visit Monte Palace Tropical Garden, the Madeira Botanical Garden, The Church of Our Lady of Monte, take a Wicker Toboggan Sled Ride, the Santa Clara Monastery.

Porto Moniz   is a charming little town on the northwest coast of Madeira. Visit the  seawater lava pools, the Miradouro da Santa viewpoint, the pretty town of Seixal , the caves of São Vicente, the cable car of Achadas da Cruz , and the pebble beach of Ribeira da Janela.

Day 4: Funchal, Santana

Santana has even been declared a Biosphere Reserve by Unesco – visit Santana´s traditional houses, the Parque Temático da Madeira, the Parque Florestal das Queimadas and the Rocha do Navio viewing point.

Day 5: Porto Santo Island

Porto Santo is a incredible island with 9 Kilometer beach covered in soft, powdery sand . Visit the Ponta da Calheta is the most southern point on Porto Santo Island. Viewpoint of Flores, Pico Ana Ferreira, Porto Santo Golfe, the Quinta Das Palmeiras, View of Portela, Casa Colombo. Porto Santo Museum,.

Day 6: Porto Santo, travel back to Funchal

Day 7: Desertas, Funchal

The Desertas consist of three small islands – the Ilhéu Chão, Deserta Grande and  Bugio – all of volcanic origin. These islands are uninhabited due to the inhospitable conditions and lack of fresh water.

Day 8: Depart from Madeira

Flight back from Madeira, back to your country
